Pooran C Pandey addresses Connected Vehicles Stakeholders Meet on Climate Change and Public Well being

Pooran Pandey spoke on the Nexus between climate change and connected vehicles in a stakeholders meet held at hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi on January 29, 2025.
Speaking on the theme, he said that there are 320 million vehicles in Indian roads emitting about 320 mmtn of CO2 spoiling the environment. Technology, smat vehicles and public policy issues can play a decisive role. Given India’s climate commitments globally, country has agreed to cut CO2 by 50 percent by 2030.
Pandey appreciated the meeting and the agenda suggesting that cutting emissions is a pivotal issue for India to meet its global climate goals.
The meeting was organized by ITS India partnered by Qualcomm, SAU as knowledge partner, CDAC, IRF and CSIR among others.
